Additional drilling operations are scheduled to be conducted during the next two years
Bahrain’s Oil and Gas Holding Company (nogaholding) has announced the discovery of two new natural gas reservoirs.
The discoveries were in the unconventional Al-Juba and Al-Jawf layers, located under the gas-producing Al-Khuf and Al-Onaiza reservoirs in Bahrain.
The latest discoveries and positive results have provided the needed valuable information to go ahead with making more evaluation of wells to benefit from all potentials of the promising natural gas resource, said Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, chairman of nogaholding.
“This information available to us paves the way for the future development and production of the natural gas resource in the interest of the kingdom of Bahrain,” he said.
Tatweer Petroleum Company has implemented all drilling operations and related activities, Bahrain News Agency reported.
Additional drilling operations are scheduled to be conducted during 2023 and 2024, in which two layers – Al-Taweel and Al-Sara – will be tested, located below the Al-Jawf gas reservoir, in addition to the horizontal drilling experience in the Al-Juba well to improve productivity.
